    2 Up Arrow Down Arrow Left Arrow Right Arrow Use the arrow keys to scroll and navigate through the displayed information.

    3 Directories Access local directories and call lists.
    3 Services Access special services (contact system administrator).
    3 Conference Setup a local conference.
    3 Transfer Transfer current call to third party.
    3 Redial Dial most recently dialed party.
    3 Menu Access local (your phone) and global (your organization) features.
    3 Messages Receive text and voice messages.
    3 Do Not Disturb Cancels ringing and directs incoming calls to your Voice Mail (if supported).
    4 Mute button Mutes audio transmission locally during calls.
    5 Headset button Allows you to place and receive calls through an optionally connected headset.
    6 Hands-free Microphone Place your phone on a hard, flat surface for best results.
    7 Speaker button Allows for hands-free communication during calls.
    8 Volume buttons Use these to adjust the volume of the handset, headset, speaker, and ringer.
    9 Dial Pad These 12 keys provide the 10 digits, the 26 alphabetic characters, and special characters available in context-sensitive applications.
    10 Soft Keys The screen will display labels for these keys, to identify their context-sensitive functions.
    11 Hold Holds an active call or resumes a held call.
    12 Speaker For ringer and hands-free audio output.
    13 Hookswitch
    14 Line/speed Dial Key Use these keys to activate up to six lines or speed dials that can be assigned to your phone.
    15 Line Indicators Individual multi-color LEDs display the dynamic call state and remote user status (busy lamp field (BLF) and presence). The mapping is:

    • Solid green—An active call is in progress.
    • Fast flashing green—There is an Incoming (ringing) call.
    • Flashing green—The call is on hold.
    • Solid red—The line is busy remotely (shared lines).
    16 Line key Use these keys to activate up to six lines or speed dials that can be assigned to your phone. The associated icons represent:

    • Line key 1 Registered line.
    • Line key 2 Registered shared line.
    • Line key 3 Unregistered line.
    • Line key 4 VoiceMail/Messages.
    • Line key 5 Speed-Dial.
    • Line key 6 Ringing.
    • Line key 7 Call Forward.
    • Line key 8 Do Not Disturb.
    • Line key 9 Conference.
    • Line key 11 Presence/BLF.
    • Line key 10 Ongoing call with HD Voice.
    17 Graphic Display Shows information about calls, messages, soft keys, time, date, and other relevant data. Caller display information—first party, second party, number of calls.

    Information display line (in order of precedence highest to lowest):

    • Popup text (like network errors).
    • Missed call text or second incoming caller display.
    • Do Not Disturb text.
    • Prompt text (like “Enter number”).
    • Time and date text (if idle display is not used for time/date display).

  • Polycom 650 Attaching the Base

    The base unit can be attached to the SoundPoint IP 650 in one of two ways:

    • Deskmount Method.
    • Wallmount Method.

    Deskmount Method

    Step 1: place all cords in the recessed area above the modular jacks.

    Step 2: align the two protrusions on the bracket with their corresponding holes in the phone.

    Step 3: snap them together to lock the base to the phone.

    Wallmount Method

    Step 1: place all cords in the recessed area above the modular jacks.

    Step 2: on the back of the phone, remove the key located behind the hook switch and reposition it so that the end tab (at a 45 degree angle) is facing up.

    Step 3: with mounting tab of the base unit facing up, fasten the base unit to the wall mount using wall anchors (not included).

    Note – The wall mount is not included in SoundPoint IP 650 SIP package. Contact your system administrator if you require one.

  • Polycom 650 Connect Handset and Headset

    Connect the short straight end of the phone cord to the handset and the corresponding longer straight end of the cord to the handset jack on the back of the phone. Connect the headset (optional) to the headset jack on the back of the phone.

  • Polycom 650 Connect Network & Power

    You have two options for network and power source connections for your Polycom SoundPoint IP 650. Your System Administrator will advise you on which one to use.

    You can use one of the following methods:

    • AC power.
    • Power over Ethernet (PoE).

    AC Power Option.

    Connect the supplied network cable between the LAN jack on the phone and the LAN port on the wall or hub/switch device port. Connect the DC plug on the power adapter to the DC 24V jack marked on the phone. Connect the country-specific AC cord to the power adapter.

    Power over Ethernet (PoE) Option.

    Using a regular CAT5 cable (optional accessory from Polycom), the phone can be powered from a PoE (IEEE 802.3af) compliant switch or hub.

  • Polycom 335 Connect Network & Power

    Use Power over Ethernet (PoE) for network and power source connections to connect your Polycom SoundPoint IP 335 phone, unless otherwise directed by your System Administrator.

    The AC power adapter is a separate, optional accessory from Polycom. Your System Administrator will provide one if necessary.

    Power over Ethernet (PoE)

    Using a regular CAT5 cable (optional accessory from Polycom), the phone can be powered from a PoE (IEEE 802.3af) compliant switch or hub.

    Connect Polycom 335 using a PoE source.

    Plug the supplied network cable between the LAN jack on the phone and an available power and data port on the in-line power switch.

  • metricVOICE – Pop Out Contacts List

    How To Pop Out Your Contacts List

    In the bottom right of every menu (except the contacts menu) is a Contacts List popout that can be detached from your browser.

    If you click on the Popout Up Arrow it will expand the Popouts size.

    Clicking on the Popout Right Arrow will detach your contacts list from your browser and into it’s own browser window that will stay even if you close your main browser.

    The color of the light next to the person’s name tells you their status. Red means they are on a call, green means they are not on a call, and grey means their phone is not connected.

    You can also click on one of your contacts to use Click to Call if you have SIP Tapi installed.

    How To Check Your Call History

    This guide shows users how to check call history via the metricVOICE managed voice service. It uses the online portal. For more info on features and access to the online portal, check the metricVOICE basic user guide.

    You can filter your call history by date range, the phone number, and the type of call (incoming, outgoing, missed).

  • metricVOICE – Time Frames

    How To Set Up Time Frames

    Time frames are used to determine when answering rules take effect. For example, I want to make a rule that forwards calls to my cell phone if I don’t answer my work phone but I only want it to do so during work hours.

    Once a time frame is used for an answering rule, it will not longer be available to use with another. You must have a time frame for every answering rule even if the time frames are the same. In that case you have to create another one but with a different name. For example always and always2.

    Select Add Time Frame at the top right.

    Give the time frame a name.

    Select when you want the Time Frame to take effect. Click Save. You can now use your new time frame on the Answering Rules page.

    You can also set specific dates. For example, if you are on vacation and want your phone calls automatically forwarded to your voicemail box.

  • metricVOICE – Simultaneous Ring

    How To Set Up Simultaneous Ring

    Simultaneous ring is for users with more than one phone that want them to ring at the same time. Click on the Answering Rules menu.

    Click on the Add Rule button on the right.

    Select a Time Frame or your new rule. If you have not created a Time Frame yet you can do so at how to set up Time Frames. Be sure to enable your Time Frame.

    Check Simultaneous Ring. You can add which phones you want to ring individually or just select Ring all user’s phones to ring all phones attached to your extension. Too add more than one individual phone click on the green + button and a new field will open up. You can also add a phone number if you want your cell phone or home phone to ring when you get a call.

    Click Save. You can test your changes by calling your own extension during your assigned Time Frame to see if the phones you have selected ring.
