Bria Version 4 Download & Setup Guide

The Bria softphone allows you to access your Fastmetrics metricPHONE via software. You can make calls from any computer using the Bria software, just as if you were using your office phone and number. Install Bria on your laptop and take calls anywhere your laptop can get an internet connection. There is also a Bria cell phone app for OS X and Android that allows you to make HD quality calls from your cell phone.

Bria has many features beyond what X-Lite offers including integration with XMPP chat programs, multiple line and multiple account support, Outlook integration, and encryption.

Note: if you want to setup call forwarding please do it via the metricPHONE web portal only.


Bria Version 4 Softphone Download

Before setting it up, download the Bria Softphone. Now you can follow the instructions below to get your softphone up and running.

For your username and password, please have your authorized administrator contact the Fastmetrics Support Team or e-mail:


When installing Bria 4 the program will ask you if you want to use Manual or Auto provisioning. Please select Manual.



To configure your Bria 4 Softphone, open Softphone/Account Settings. Choose Account Settings from the Softphone menu. You can also click on the blue Account Settings link below.


Account Settings

  • Account Name: this name will be displayed locally on your Bria softphone for this particular account.
  • Protocol: leave as SIP.
  • User ID: enter your extension. (Obtained from support.)
  • Domain: enter your domain name. This is the part of your email address following the @ character.
  • Password: enter your password. (Obtained from support.)
  • Display name: this will be displayed to the person you are speaking with.
  • Authorization name: enter your User ID again.
  • Domain Proxy: for this section check Register with domain and receive calls. Then select Proxy Address and enter
  • Dial plan: leave the default settings.


Voicemail Settings

Enter the settings below. For sending calls to voicemail replace the X’s with your extension number.


Topology Properties

From the Firewall traversal method section, select None. Leave the default settings shown here.


Presence Settings

Leave the default settings shown here.


Transport Settings

Leave the default settings shown here.


Advanced Settings

Leave the default settings shown here. Now select OK to save your changes.
