This allows identification of a contact by a specific ring tone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To set a distinctive ring for a local contact:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Press <strong>Menu<\/strong> button then <strong>Features<\/strong>, and select <strong>Contact Directory<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Using the arrow keys, scroll through the directory to choose a contact.<\/li>\n<li>Press <strong>Edit<\/strong> and scroll down to Ring Type.<\/li>\n<li>Enter a number corresponding to one of the ring types available (press <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-854\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fastmetrics.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2014\/06\/polycom-430-right.png\" alt=\"Polycom 430 Right arrow\" width=\"18\" height=\"18\" \/> and then <strong>&lt;&lt;<\/strong> to remove an existing value). See Ring Type in this guide for further details.<\/li>\n<li>Press the <strong>Save<\/strong> soft key or <strong>Cancel<\/strong> to abandon the change then press <strong>Menu<\/strong> button to return to the idle display.<\/li>\n<li>Incoming calls from this contact will now have a distinctive ringing pattern.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This feature is local to the phone, and may be overridden by server settings.
