To call a speed dial number, use the dial pad to enter the speed dial index followed by the # key, and then press <strong>Dial<\/strong> or pick up the handset to place a call. You can search the local contact directory or the corporate directory and dial from the search results page.<\/p>\n<p>During a call, you can alternate between Handset, Headset, or Hands-Free Speakerphone modes by pressing <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-737\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fastmetrics.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2014\/06\/polycom-speaker.png\" alt=\"Speaker button\" width=\"18\" height=\"18\" \/> or <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-736\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fastmetrics.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2014\/06\/polycom-headset.png\" alt=\"Headset button\" width=\"18\" height=\"18\" \/>, or picking up the handset.<\/p>\n<p>Call duration on an active call is monitored through a local call timer. This is visible within the active call window on the graphic display. In this figure, the call to James Dean has lasted 2 hours 48 minutes 23 seconds so far.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1089\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fastmetrics.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2014\/06\/335-place-call-1.png\" alt=\"Polycom SoundPoint 335 - Place a Call 1\" width=\"191\" height=\"75\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To place a call using the handset, do the following steps in any order:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pick up the handset.<\/li>\n<li>Dial the desired number using the dial pad.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1090\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fastmetrics.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2014\/06\/335-place-call-2.png\" alt=\"Polycom SoundPoint 335 - Place a Call 2\" width=\"191\" height=\"71\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>To place a call using Hands-Free Speakerphone mode, do one of the following steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>With the handset on-hook<\/em>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Press <strong>Dial<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<li>Press <strong>Line 1<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Press <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-737\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fastmetrics.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2014\/06\/polycom-speaker.png\" alt=\"Speaker button\" width=\"18\" height=\"18\" \/> or the <strong>NewCall<\/strong> soft key to obtain dial tone.<\/li>\n<li>Dial the desired number using the dial pad.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To place a call using the headset do one of the following steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>With the optional headset connected<\/em>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Press <strong>Dial<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<li>Press <strong>Line 1<\/strong>, or the <strong>NewCall<\/strong> soft key to obtain dial tone.<\/li>\n<li>Press <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-736\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fastmetrics.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2014\/06\/polycom-headset.png\" alt=\"Headset button\" width=\"18\" height=\"18\" \/>.<\/li>\n<li>You will hear a dial tone.
