A post inspired by our love of the French electronic music duo, Daft Punk. Our song of choice is ‘Harder Better Faster Stronger’ but there are many songs that we like from these creative musicians. Like us, they have some big love for technology and all things digital.
Interesting band name though. A ‘Daft Punk’ is something we don’t want to be as a business. For reference;
- daft – adjective. BRITISH. Informal. Silly; foolish.
- punks – noun. NORTH AMERICAN. Informal. A worthless person (often used as a general term of abuse).
We strive not to be daft punks. 🙂
Daft Punk songs we would choose to represent our business
‘Harder Better Faster Stronger’- Our #1 choice. If we could choose a theme song for our business in a TV commercial, ‘Harder Better Faster Stronger’ would be it. Catchy, up beat, electronic, digital. This song features some nice robotic vocals and we love robots! From the 2001 Daft Punk ‘Discovery’ album.
Work it harder, Make it better, Do it faster, Makes us stronger More than ever, Hour after, Our work is never over
We’re not sure what the song is about exactly. We came up with our own meaning to the song;
- BETTER – Reliability & Support
- FASTER – Business Internet & Data
- STRONGER – Connectivity & Communications
We are actually in the business of making things easier for our customers. It’s definitely harder to get things done when your internet service doesn’t connect, is patchy, down, disconnects regularly or does not provide enough bandwidth to support your needs.
‘Around The World’ – Our second choice of songs. Many businesses aspire for global reach, communication or connectivity. We like to help them achieve this through our business ISP solutions. Fiber optic internet is a prime example of ‘around the world’ connectivity – it crosses borders via subterranean means and provides fast passage to data and voice.
‘Digital Love’ – Self explanatory why we like this song really. At the core of our internet connections and phone lines are electronically transmitted digital signals. Expressed as a series of 0’s and 1’s, sent as packets.
As well as a catchy song, ‘Digital Love’ has a sweet animated music video too;
‘Robot Rock’ – Did we mention we love robots and robotics? There’s not much cooler than a song about a rocking robot either. From the 2005 ‘Human After All’ album.
We are just going to leave this here as proof;
The only thing we don’t like about robots is automated voice attendants. A really annoying kind of robot, especially when you need a fast solution. So, we don’t do that to support our customers.
‘Technologic’ – Another track from Daft Punk’s 2005 ‘Human After All’ Album. You’ve definitely performed one or many of the tasks mentioned in this Daft Punk song. Here’s some of our most performed workplace functions;
View it, code it, jam, unlock it
Surf it, scroll it, pose it, click it
‘Doin’ It Right’ – Featuring more of the famous Daft Punk robot vocals. This song features Panda Bear too. This song has a great message and that’s why we like it. Every business should aspire to be ‘doin’ it right’, whatever you’re doing.
‘Motherboard’ – We love the fact that there was a song named after a circuit board. It’s hard to make a bunch on components soldered onto a board sound sexy. Kudos for Daft Punk for doing so. From their most recent album, ‘Random Access Memories‘.
Daft Punk songs we wouldn’t choose
‘Get Lucky’ – Not that it’s a bad song and the cameos by Nile Rogers Pharrell were cool. But when it comes to phone or internet services, you don’t want to simply get lucky. They need to work, all the time. There’s no luck involved, they work or they don’t. The same applies when you sign up for service. Everyone should receive a clear picture and full transparency on service levels, pricing and features and support included.
‘Short Circuit’ – These are never good. The malfunction or failure of devices is something we always try and prevent, at all times!
‘Television Rules The Nation’ – This may very well be true. Still, we prefer music and the internet mostly here at the office. Unless there’s a 9ers or Giants game on. Still, we often stream those. Maybe television doesn’t rule everywhere.
Do you have an ideal song or artist to represent your business?
